Why Are Sapphires The Best Gemstones? (My Opinion)

Why Are Sapphires The Best Gemstones? (My Opinion)

As you can easily see, I love sapphires. Of course, every gemstone has its own charm. In my personal opinion, however, sapphires are the best gemstones of all, which is why I have dedicated myself to them in particular. In this article, I would like to explain why I feel this way.

Stability for eternity

The sapphire is a stone for eternity, literally. Together with the ruby, it belongs to the corundum family of minerals. Corundum is extremely hard. On the Mohs scale, it ranks 9/10; only diamonds are harder. This makes sapphires extremely scratch-resistant, and their shine is guaranteed to last.

But that's not all: the internal structure of sapphires also makes them very stable. Sapphires usually have hardly any internal cracks, unlike emeralds, for example. This internal structure makes sapphires very resistant to impacts.

With sapphires, you don't have to worry about them getting damaged. It is a stone that you can wear every day without hesitation.

Breathtaking variety of colors

When we think of sapphires, the color blue often comes to our minds first. No other stone can compete with sapphire when it comes to this color. However, blue is only the peak of the iceberg. The variety of colors found in sapphires is incomparable. From a light pink to sunny yellow to forest green, everything is represented. Sapphires that contain several colors and show extremely exciting color zoning (parti sapphires) are also very fascinating.

A truly unique stone

Every sapphire is unique and symbolizes individuality. No two stones are identical. Especially with larger stones, you will never find another sapphire that has exactly the same color, saturation, and life. Owning a sapphire means having something that exists only once in the entire universe.

Treasure for generations

Sapphires have historically proven to be extremely stable in value and often show a steady increase in value. If you ever want to part with your stone- or pass it on to the next generation - you are very likely to have increased its value.

Timeless aesthetics

The most important thing, of course, is the pure beauty of sapphires. Even though beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, I believe that sapphires have the most beautiful colors of all gemstones. In my opinion, no other stone can create such elegance as sapphires.
